without a doubt get to Krown Rust Control. my 96 had rusted out door bottoms when i bought it in 2002, but Krown stopped it dead in its tracks, and it still looks good now (even though i sold it to a friend). the key is to apply annually.

if you cant find a Krown close by, look em up online. see if they will ship you some of the rust control. it is available in aerosol cans which are great for spot treatments. if no luck with Krown directly, try Canadian Tire or Home Hardware. they may sell online and ship. you will not be disappointed, truct me on this one.
