I actually did, through trial and error.

Your problem might be several things. The type of airbrush your using. some airbrushes are only for fine work so you can only use translucent paints nothing heavy like acrylics or enamels. Or you could be using the paint too thick.
Or not enough Air pressure.

I use a paache VL and createx paints and my air pressure usually around 25 to 40.

I'll try and look up some more of my past works and start a new thread.
