I wouldn't buff it because you may end up taking some of the colour out or stretching the material, just rub it on with your finger, use a lite amount don't cover it like it has 3rd degree burns lol. I remember if you ever got something like gum or crayon on leather or vinyl you can use an ice cube to harden it then chip it away and come back with some toothpaste and a tooth brush to remove the rest.
