Default AFE cai for 2011 2500 hemi

A brief review of the AFE cai for the 2500 hemi ram. In a quest to make this sound even better than the 14" magma flow, I decided to install this cai. It sounds killer. It looks nice, and has the Synthaflow oil-less air cleaner.
What this has illustrated to me is that the truck NEEDS a tune now. The vvt is very evident now, and the truck sometimes is a gear higher than it should be resulting in lugging the engine for a few seconds. From a stop, or while manually holding a gear, it runs like a raped ape, and sounds very old school HEMI-ish. Don't buy this expecting to gain MPG, I didn't, and was pleasantly surprised to see .5-1 mpg. I believe the gains would be more appreciable if I was still on the stock tires.
Would I purchase again?? Probably not. Could buy 70 gallons of 87 octane, and a Patty Melt from Whataburger........ Yum, whataburger.
