Default Brake pedal height adjustment?

I'm sure this is a big time novice question, but is there any way to adjust the brake pedal height on a 4th gen Ram that is not equipped with power adjustable pedals? I've seen lots of threads on the internet about adjusting brake pedals (on various vehicles) simply by detaching the pedal and adjusting the push rod and brake light switch. Is it this simple? Or is that not really a means of adjusting the height?

My 2012 has a very significant difference in the height of the brake and accelerator pedals. The sales guy at the dealership told me that it cannot be adjusted, and that Ram intentionally did this in the wake of the Toyota brake pedal issues (folks hitting the gas when they intended on hitting the brake). Is this a pile of BS?

In any case, I gotta lift my leg completely to hit the brake... quite a pain when you're sitting in stop and go traffic.
