Question Drove a 2012 SL with a Cummins and Auto

It was alright....but I wasn't floored like I was expecting to be. The truck seemed like it had problems getting out of its own way at times. NOW, in all fairness it was brand new and had 35s with a level kit

I've got a buddy with a 95 or 96 that has a 7.3L with a manual and it just seems stouter all around. Now in reality the 6.7 has 275lb ft more of torque and 125 horses. Does the manual REALLY make it feel that much better? I notice the motor is REALLY tuned down for a manual. Is there that much parasitic drain with an auto?

It just wasn't at all what I expected, I've never owned one but i grew up thinking that in the diesel market (tractors excepted) there were "really" two brands you needed to worry about; Caterpillar and Cummins.

I drove a 2012 Lariat with a 6.7 and it felt much more lively and all round stronger. I'm definitely open to you guys thoughts on the issue.

Luke
