Im not sure the reason behind you avoiding exhaust but have you looked into electronic cut outs?? They open a valve in your exhaust when its "race time" and allow air to flow out before the muffler therefore creating a straight through exhaust with just the flip of a switch. Then when its all done you can switch it back which closes it and you will have your stock exhaust back. Really cheap and really easy to install
do u have dyno data from before and after the transmission work? does it give u a higher stall for launching and harder and higher shift points? the E cutout is a great and affordable recommendation. i would have done that had i not have gone with a custom cbe. (i had the money to spend so i spent it on the exhaust) as i dont plan on modding this thing like i did with my subaru legacy gt
