Default BFG All-Terrain T/A KO: Size?

I just bought a 2012 Ram 2500 today & I have to replace the stock tires ASAP. The truck came w/ Firestone Transforce AT tires & they ride horribly (I feel every bounce). I owned a 2003 H2 until yesterday & it had an excellent ride. Besides the suspension, it had BFG All-Terran T/A KOs (315/70R17). Obviously, these won't fit the stock rim.

I was thinking of getting them in 275/70R16, but I'm really unsure.

I need a tire that rides really well (thinking load D, not E) & performs well in snow. I'll be replacing the rims as well since the only tire that fits the stock rim is a load E tire.

What's the best tire to get?
