I think that you would have to find a way around using the activation code
I believe that would mean that you would need a Master disk, like the one the dealership has

Also Garmin gets their maps through NAVTEQ, they must write their own software after getting the maps

The current radios are made by either Mitsubishi Electronics or Harman Kardon
