I put the hughes kit on mine and the advantage is you will probably never have to do it again because the original uses a steel plate attached to an aluminum manifold. When heated and cooled the two metals expand and contract at different rate and the object in the middle ( the gasket) gets tugged at eventually giving way. The hughes kit uses a 1/4" aluminum plate and therefore no difference in the interaction of heating and cooling. Hughe's all the way is my reccomandation.

Another check for the gasket gone is take the cover off your throttle body and open the butterflys, if it is dark and oilly looking inside with a flashlight the gasket is leaking.
