Unless you have the desire to datalog and read the logs, then you really shouldn't mess with the spark, fuel, or shift point adjustments. If you start playing with the spark or fuel trims then you should really have an air/fuel gauge so you can see what the changes are doing. If you have this, then you can start tweaking the ratios to optimize the various rpm bands, but be very careful you don't lean it out or you'll start knocking or worse.

I would recommend the custom tune as well if you're new to a programmer.
