Well, I know the throttle position sensor has a lot to do with shift patterns, perhaps picking one up in a scrapyard and trying it would be advantageous. The TPS is on the drivers side of the throttle body, and has a three wire plug in. generally, if it's not plugged in, the tranny has no idea whether to be in high gear, low gear, or whereever in between. Shift kit my behind, something is wrong, here... Being defective could give you the redline fuel eating shifts, It's a starting point, anyhow!
