I've just bought a 2008 ram 3500 diesel dually. I hear a howlling noise when I am on the gas petal. If I take my foot off the gas the noise quits. Any answers as to what it is?:4-dontknow:
Could be a differential noise . But could also be a number of other things . Would be best if you took it somewhere and had them run it on a lift so they could pinpoint it for ya .
YES TOM I do agree.. have e-mailed the dealer where I got the truck and am waiting for their reply, as to what they are going to do about it.I have only had the truck for a week, and feel that they (dealer) should repair it..
I was just looking for some idea as to what it could be.. I guess that it doesn't really matter what it is, as long as the dealer repairs it EY!!
Could be ring and pinion noise , driveshaft carrier bearing noise . Really hard to tell 100% without being able to hear it . Agree , the dealership should take care of it .
sounds like rear diff problems don't drive it till you get it looked at can be causing serious damage i had a dually never had that noise i will say duallys need rear diff fluid changed frequently
Now granted it was in an '06 1500 but the dealership through in an additive that took the howl out instantly. Same time frame as you first couple of weeks, no issues up until when I traded it in with 145,000 on it
i had the same problem on my truck well its a 1500 but it was doin the same as you said it turned out bein my front hubs it sounds like it was comin from rear but it was front hubs
