De-Badged Tailgate - Uh-Ohhhh!

I de-badged my tail gate tonight but found that the adhesive ghosted the paint. I don't know how deep. I'll use some rubbing compound tomorrow to try and pull it out but I don't know if it's in the clear-coat or if it's deeper.

Take a look at the before and after photos. It's really faint... Don't know what it will look like in sunlight. It's an '04 so those badges have been on a long time. Any ideas or experience with this?

Wash it, wax it, drive it.<repeat on regular basis>....then look again in about 6 months. :)

i cant see any difference in the pics but all i can suggest is wash and a good layer of wax and it shouldnt be as noticible

i had the same problem too, i used also a polish for new cars with small abrassive stuff in it. After 1-2 mins of polishing it went away.
Not even looking close will notice it.
