So I am looking at headers for my 5.7. I am just curious what the differance between ceramic and armor coated I know that over time the ceramic headers will crack but will the armor coated out last the ceramic. I want to be able to put headers on my truck and not have to worrk about them cracking from getting too hot. Right now I am looking at pace setters long tube 4-1.
I personally don't purchase all these exotic coated headers . I normally get them hot , burn the factory paint off of them , then paint them with a high temp exhaust paint . The set I just purchased from Pacesetter , for my '01 , are gonna get painted then wrapped .
Ceramic coated headers are supposed to be indestructable, I haven't heard of them ever cracking. It is just a coating over the stainless steel. As for types, shorties or long tubes. I guess long tubes are better, they definately cost more! I believe you get more gain out of the long tubes. Next post-er......
