I have a 2002 dodge ram 1500 with the factory 17s i was wondering what is the tallest offroad tire that i could install on the factory ride hight? thanks for the input guys and gals
If memory serves, you can safely run a 285/75R-17. Keep in mind not all tires are created equally and some will be taller or wider than others even thought they're sized the same.
That ^^^^ would be the max and, as he said, tires do vary from mfgr to mfgr. You may end up having to run a 65 series vs. a 75 series depending on whose tire and what style, i.e., highway tread vs. off-road tread.
i just put 285/70/17 on stock rims, with no lift or level,
they are goodyear wrangler territorys similar to the duratracs
ill post a pic if i can figure it out lol
I have a 2009 1500 4x4 with a leveling kit, will I be able to clear 305/65/17 Mickey Thompson Atz's? I'm thinking about getting these tires and i want to make sure that they wont rub. Any help is appreciated.
Cant help you on that specific tire. Dont know anyone who has tried the "short" 305-17. 305/70R17 requires spacers for sure. 285/70R17 clears on every tire Ive seen. 285/75R17 varies and I dont know anyone who has tried the 295/70R17.
