So I was tightening up my header blots and snapped on off on the driver side first port front bolt. While trying to drill and tap a new hole, I accidentally drilled off to the right. A couple drips of anti freeze can out. I did get the hole tapped, put a bunch of thread sealant in there and its holding for now. What should I do about new heads? just replace the one or upgrade them both? What are my options? Pricing? and where to look? any help is greatly appreciated!
If you're looking for more performance, upgrading the heads would be a good start but with increased port volume/flow, you'll want a bigger bumpstick to go along with them.
It was a stud , correct ? On the back side of the studs are water passages , thats why their studded . Not knowing how bad it's drilled off center , you may try and take it to a machine shop and see if they can't drill it out oversized and install a oversized stud that steps down to the correct bolt size you have . Heres a pic of what I'm talking about .
