Whitelightning specializes in trans tuning, hemifever does better in the engine side of things. If it's just tweaks to a tune, then either will be good
I am running the Hemifever , and like what Sean has done so far , he did make afew changes to shift points and firmness so adds a little smile , I put a lot of road mile on from the IE to Vegas one thing I liked was I jumped 2mpg when on the highway ....depends on what ya want to put down in town light to light but I get almost a full 1 mph . I am sure you cant go wrong either way ..one thing I do need to ask is when in Vegas area better mph then when in the IE ...elevation I guess changes the AFRs and she runs better at higher altitudes?
I'm not trying to seem like a educational source, just saying that I've asked around a lot about the same thing. The basic understanding that I've gathered is hemifever for waking up the beast, spin tires, and to have that kinda fun. Whitelightning for the even more serious track and times guys. I got a daily driver that has my daughter in it half the time, so I'll be going hemifever so I can play on the way to pick her up and such. Both guys sound great. Hemifever throws in his tune when you buy the tuner through him and I understand that the discountautoperformance guys have the tuner with an available whitelightning tune included. Additionally, I know money is money these days, but if you can get up to $500 to $600 dollar range just for the tuner and now get a freebie included; why not eventually try both. It was just a few months ago that everybody ran out to grab the tuner and then had to go get the first tune out-of-pocket. We're lucky to have the DiscountAutoPerformance discount too and excellent presence and customer service on here.
No doubt about that! Thanks for the input guys, I'm sure ill go with the white lightning tune because of the trans tune. And I'd like to give discount auto most of my business with my build.
Oh wow!
Thanks gents!
We certainly stove to be as responsive to you all
Plus we like to offer variety for members.....hence WhiteLightning.
Both are hands down 2 of the best in the industry (Hemifever and WhiteLightning that is)

I got the WL tune today. Over the weekend I had my truck at the dealership, so I had it stock. I got some base 0-60 times with the stock tune. I am going to load the canned DS 91 tune here shortly and will get some more times with that tonight. Lastly, I will get the WL numbers in the next day or two. I did not get the trans tune from him...yet. I was shocked...I have the Mopar CAI, y-pipe and magnaflow 14" and my best with the stock tune was 6.39. My best with the DS 91 canned tune was 6.2. Hoping to see some good numbers with the WL tune.
I dont know much on White Lightening but Sean "Hemi Fever" is the guy i use with my 400 Stroker i put alot of trust into his tunes and he has never let me down on anything.
Could anybody tell me about what these tunes run? I paid $450 for my tune. No serious complaint but I feel I should notice a bit more. I feel with the basic mods I have I should at least be able to light up my tires. And can only hit an 8 second 0-60. Sorry for the hijack!
That's not bad at all. So I just do some data logging and send it and they email a tune? Im sure this is covered somewhere else but haven't found anything yet. I have the trinity and would be curious about compare the CMR tune to either WL or Hemifever. I do know that I lose a lot of hp since Im at such high altitude but I want to wake it up more without doing real heavy mods
This is one way and you'll also need to send your original backup/stock tune and current loaded tune.
All 3 will give WhiteLightning all the info he needs to do this.
Great thing is, he will tweak as you,try it if its not to your liking (ie,shift points too soft or too hard)
Either way, let us know and we can get you moving quicker as he prioritizes our emails and customers
Hate to do this, but I still have not heard back from WL in 3 days. Go with Hemifever. Going to try to get my money returned from my PayPal payment to WL and go with HF. No professional sould ignore someone who payed 4 days ago...I still have nothing from WL and my payment went through last Tuesday. Very unprofessional
Direct. No problem, that's why I was saying hate do do it. I have heard nothing but good things about DAP. But, not receiving the tune 4 days after he said I would have it is unacceptable. But, this did not involve DAP directly. But, they need to know if someone they are dealing with is "ignoring" people that have paid for services.
Yeah, he is back. However, when I pay for something and am told I will have it the next day, and then that person stops replying to emails...well...
I told him that I didn't want it rushed. All I wanted was some communication. Not replying to a customer that paid doesn't sit well with me is all. He is on it now though.
He did mention to me today that he is working with you.
But as stated above, Dave is swamped.....
When I'm back I will talk with him to see his workload and maybe I will have to keep those who came through us in the loop of their tune.
He does do great tunes and he won't stop once he provides you one until, your happy. This may also be a reason for his delays too
He probably stopped tuning lol....sent him an email last week never heard back from him. I know why but still if you suppose to be a man you need to own up and not hide like a little girl.
I decided to go with Sean (Hemifever). I finally installed my tuner on a sunday and shot him an email, within an hour he was going back and forth with me, and had me custom tunes. We ran into issues, which seem to be common for some guys lately, but he had all the answers almost immediately, and on a sunday! Couldn't be happier even though I am stuck running the canned 91 tune for now (No fault of Seans!).
Dave definitely has my vote. He's a great guy to deal with and will make sure you are satisfied with everything and will work with you till you are. He's done my trans tune and an N/A tune for my truck and gotten it dialed in. Its as fast stock as it was with Long tubes and other little mods. He's just waiting on me to get my turbo back on so we can continue with the process
so who is giving the best deals on tuners now? ive been away for a couple months while buying/remodeling my new home but im back and ready to continue the mods  ..i had the trinity before but no custom tune which is why i read this thread in the first place..i like the fact that now i can buy a new tuner and get a custom tuned thrown in the deal.
I was reading this thread since I am in the market for a tuner. I was fairly certain that I was going to just purchase the DS In Tune from Hemi-fever and get the DS In Tune with the custom tune. It seems that with DAP can offer similar with WhiteLightning trans tune as well. I am now leaning a little more toward that. So my question is can I purchase the tunes from DAP and In Tune to arrive pre-loaded? According to the website it looks like only the DS Trinity is offered this way. Also, is there any difference between the DS In Tune DCX other than the 93 octane canned tune?
Thanks,
We do not recommend the intune with the custom tune (Dave aka WhiteLightning is on the same page) as it is 'buggy'.
That being said, we strongly recommend the T1000 not because it cost more, BUT it is VERY stable
These do not come pre loaded as in order for the custom tune to be effective your original backup tune is required as your latest loaded tune and a data log if you so choose to provide this (but it is not necessary). But the first 2 is required. This will give him insight into how your truck runs as not all trucks run the same
Hope this clears it up, but you will greatly love the engine and trans tune
