i know that thing lies, but i am afraid to know the real truth. I have heard that mpg increases as total miles increase on the hemi. any truth to that?
I recently logged 7k miles and my mileage has started improving. I was stuck in the mid-15's and now the console (haven't calculated by hand yet) is consistently reading 17-17.5 MPG!
No MDS. I was just checking. I am at 29500 miles, I didn't know if the 30k plugs were playing a role in this. I do plan on changing them very soon though.
and you do have to reset the computer.. if your rockin down the highway at 75 mph hit reset and it will calulate a more accurate mpg. but that does sound about right for that speed.
I averaged about 18mpg on my '08 with MDS. That was a combination of state hiways that run through a few podunk Arkansas towns, and I-30 (at about 75MPH). I guess it was about a 150-180 mile round trip.
I'll typically get 12-14 driving back and forth to work. That is mostly around town driving, but there is a stretch of about 5 miles at hiway speeds, then another 5 miles or so that is at "in town" speeds 25-45MPH.
I figured that I bought a truck, didn't expect great mileage.
good luck
