A quick question. What is the best way to get out scratches? I work at a Prison and and the people in the Parking lot don't care about your ride, they put stuff on your hood or rub up against it and leave you some really nice scratches. How can I get these out? Thanks for the help

Yeah, Maguiar's makes a good product for that, swril mark/scratch remover. Works like a charm, that is, so long as they are not too bad and only superficial.

That crap makes me want to smash someone. Sounds like you need to do a billy club stake-out !

My last truck was black so i went through a few brands bewfore finding Nu Finish products; they've worked pretty well for me. (I also bought a crappy little ford escort to drive to work; truck stays on the garage during the week).

I saw a Billy Mays commercial that advertised Simoniz fix it pro. It is for clear coat scratches. Has anyone tried that?

As a professional detailer, a good rule of thumb I use for scratches is if you can feel it with your fingernail, it is probably through the CC and is too deep to completely fix through polishing. Notice I said "completely". Even scratches that are through the CC can have their appearance reduced through polishing to the point where they are barely noticeable. For most customers, this is completely acceptable. For others, a complete repair is required. Then, your other option is to get some touch-up paint. There is a great DIY tutorial somewhere on repairing scratches. I'll look it up.

If your Ram is prone to scratches and/or you're serious about your trucks appearance I would recommend getting a Porter Cable 7424XP (PC for short in the detailing biz) and a small assortment of pads and high quality polishes. I have a link to a retailer, but I'm not sure if it's against the rules to post it. But I'm more than glad to tutor anyone who's serious about detailing their ride.
