Does anyone know if there is a Service item on the passenger front seat? When I have someone sitting there and i make a Left turn i can hear the sit make a noise. It sounds like it coming from the "rails" on the Seat .... Thought i would see if anyone is having that issue too!
I hear a creaking sound from what it seems like my rear seat area right behind my driver seat when I make turns.......It just started about a month ago...maybe it will go away when the weather gets above freeeezin....
I had mine checked out but the sound is back. it really sounds like a clunking sound now. Like the rails are oversize so they bang together and have play in them.
The passenger side is manual. The drivers side makes a slight squeak but nothing bad. A little grease would fix the drivers. The passenger has been greased to the point that it dripped off the rails and its still a problem
Hey my truck has been in the shop for this issue several times now and they jsut keep lubing the seat rail its not working and I am getting really sick of all the little issues with this truck. I really dissappointed so far with this truck it was my first new vehicule, and my first dodge and has turned me away from buying another one. My drivers seat did this about a month after owning the truck and they replaced the reat base and rails it seemed to fix it I think I will suggest this next time it goes it which will be soon because of a couple other issues which i have been having for awhile with no fix
This may sound like blasphemy but there have been many times I wish I would have kept my '97 1500....I have NEVER had a problem with that truck. It was solid as a rock with no squeaks, moans, groans, leaks. Trust me, I love my '09 but it just doesnt seem to be made as well as the '97 was...
CREAKY SEAT FIX- Just an fyi, brought my 2009 Ram to the dealer for my passenger seat creaking noise when I have passenger. The dealer tried greasing up the tracks. That didnt fix it so i looked at it myself. Here's what to do, it worked for me so far. Reach under the rear of the seat and unclip the back flap (should have two plastic clips attached 2 fabric stretch bands),once unclipped do the same for the foam seat bottom, once thats unclipped lift it up and you will see a pipe, push grease in the seam of the inside flanges it runs through i believe that should fix it good luck!! (p.s. it looks like the flange is pressed with pipe sticking through it )
I did have the same clunk sound when only making a right turn, either forward or reverse.
Grease did not help this, grease may help a squeak but not the clunk.
My wonderful wife road in the back and lay down behind the drivers seat and found it was the bottom base making the noise. It was replaced 3 months ago and I haven't heard it since.
I had a passenger seat noise. The dealer greased it up, and it's been fine ever since. Now my drivers seat is making noise, more of a popping, and grease hasn't helped.
My drivers seat was making noise, and it was getting worse as time went on, so I looked at it yesterday. It sounded like a faint metal tension popping sound. Long story short, I put rubber washers between the seat frame and where it mounts to the truck body, as well as between the seat frame and the bolts that secure the frame to the truck. $6 in rubber washers, and the seat is dead quiet.
