Well today was the first time in the 2 years I have had my truck that someone pulled up to the light beside me and gunned it when the light changed.
I was on my way home and a black 2010 Ram pulled up beside me and I thought nothing of it till he started to creep forward as the light was about to change. Not being sure I started off a little harder than normal but not all out. He must have been the same because he stayed right with me, then I hear the roar of his engine as he punches it so I did like wise. I was sticking with him side by side up to about 55 and then he slowly started to pull away, but just barely. Then I had to slow right down as we had caught up to the car in front.
So all in all, not too bad. He took me but just. I can live with being beat by a fellow Ram.
nice lil run there bud but i kinda find it hard to believe because i drive a 4th gen and i smoke the 3rd gens all the time and not just barley but by alot lol but all in all its just fun right
Hence the" saved by the bell ", he had the KO and was pulling away when I had to slow so it didn't look too bad, if not for the car he would have left me way behind.
Be nice to get the nerve to take a 4th gen. Hell wish i had the nerve to take on 3rd gens considering they seem to rev and cut me off as much as the next person.
Yesterday a 3G almost side swipe me off the road when cutting me off and almost rear ending motorscooter who was in front of me.
Almost wanted to stretch the top end legs on the highway but calmed down by then.
:4-dontknow:
I raced a 4th gen hemi 4x4 and I took him by about 3 truck lenghts we were going all out up to 100mph...I was just pulling on him...Of course my 4.56 gears and 2wd helps...
I flat out embarrassed a 3G all day long stock vs stock,
I'm a former 3G owner (QCSB 4x4 Sport) and the new Eagle has some decent power bone stock.
My 10' (RCSB 4x4 3.55's on 20's) only a couple months old,
had its very first run down the quarter against a white 08' Hemi QC 2WD
He was weight reduced (no spare or tailgate) on 17" wheels
....I was always a full 1.3 - 1.5 seconds quicker.
(Very HOT July day, DA was close to 4000ft.)
after a couple minor mods (intake/exhaust/tuner)
and a dedicated set of DT's I'm a full second faster than that now.
Consistent low 14 second runs at 3500ft. (after DA corrections I'm at 13.724@98.521)
on deck for the next round :
Headers, Cam, Gears...maybe even spray
There is no way that white qc ran 16.8 and its 2wd...Maybe a 4.7...My buddy ran 16.1 and he is 4x4 with intake and thats it....That my friend is a 4.7...I ran my stock extended s10 4.3 vortec and ran 16 flat and my hemi was way faster when it was stock....So for that hemi ram 2wd to run 16.8 is not right...
High Heat, High Humidity, High Elevation = triple whammy ET killer
LOL, I've been around long enough to know a 4.7L from a 5.7L
We were both in the pit after with our hoods up trying to cool off.
I'll bet I've got a pic of that too. Maybe his S#!T was just broke
...sorry I didn't get it on video for you
Later in the Fall, just a month or two later when things cooled off I dropped 5-6 tenths easily. I'm sure he would have too.
Here's one of my better slips (Right Lane), against a friends 4G R/T 2WD (Left Lane)
Both with same basic mods (intake/exhaust/tuner) Both on DT's... Still pretty High DA over 3000ft.
I only beat him by my reaction time so it was close near the finish line. But a Kill is a Kill ! Great Fun!
I knocked down an SRT8 Grand Cherokee too, same way and have eye witness members here that can vouch for me.
He was faster, no doubt...but I made it to the line first by .1264
DA was very high that day +3539, my corrected DA numbers came out to 13.724@98.521 at DragTimes.com
Took on my Buddie's Yellow QC SRT10 that day too lol No Fear!
but he's not Stock, has Headers and a Tune on his V10... But asleep at the tree too, so I had him beat for over half the track until he reeled me in and just beat me by 0.275 at the finish line
I'm still running stock 3.55:1 gears with an open diff
damn those are some slow times you guys should deffinitely run much faster...My brothers 04 qc hemi with intake and exhaust ran a 15.3..with 17 inch rims when he first purchased it so I would assume a stock qc 2wd should run around 15.4-15.5 bone stock....
I HAD on 04' QCSB Hemi, there is no F'n Way to get into the 15's here, even with intake/exhaust
Like I said, DA is the killer up here.
You cant really compare with someone who run's at sea level
a bone stock 4G R/T can run high 13's at sea level , That's a FACT.
...But up here you can barely break into the 14's (stock).
My SRT10 bud's in the Viper Truck Club are planning a Gumball Rally down to Mission BC (25ft. above sea level)
and I'm going to tag along (if I can keep up LOL) That'll bring me home a few 13 second slips, maybe 12's for them...
yes sire 15 on my brotheres truck with intake and exhaust 2wd and stock 3.92 gears...I dont have that much mods and I ran 14.8 the only thing I had on him is diablo and gears...4.56 gears..I ran 5 runs on test and tune and the slowest one was 15.1 and that was with 20's
I understand DA is killer up there but not down here...I bet you you would shave about the second on most of those vehicles down here...Oh by the way that is a nice truck Blackramhemi...I like your friends srt10...Im in the process of buying a csrt8...I seen one run down here bone stock and he did 13.1...
