Default High Pitch Squeek in Dash Solved!

Been searching this site for a while....truck has 45K on it and like clockwork after the warranty expired a very very very annoying squeek devloped from what seemed to be under the driverside dash. Tried everyhting with out any luck....moved to the outside thinking it could be the hood and low and behold the drivers wiper arm/linkage is the culprit. light pressire on the arm (Drivers) makes it occur. Also while driving while the noise is occuring...activiating the wipers makes it go away! Going to pull the cowel off this weekend and see whats what. Just thouhgt some of you should know!

Thank you so much for posting this information! While this may seem insignificant to some, the info you just posted might just keep another member either now or in the future from pulling out their hair! Since I dont have any that I can afford to lose, guess what the first thing I am going to look for is if my truck develops said squeak.

Knowledge is power, and here both are free. Thanks for helping our members OP!

It's always good to hear about these type of problems. All I have to do now is remember this post if it ever occurs to my truck. Thanks for letting us know.

My squeek was on full today. Started the wipers an poof gone, I could actually hear a slight squeek when the wipers reached the bottom of each stroke.

I have been chasing this gobblin for more than a year. Thanks ryan2001.

I have a squeak when the wipers change direction, I wondered if I was hearing things. It sounds like there may be a wear problem with the wiper arm bushings on some of theses trucks. I have 37k miles and don't use my wipers very often.
