Default Suggestions on Exhaust Upgrade

I really want to take it the muscle car route. I want to put a cold air induction, headers and a whole new exhaust system.

I have two issues on the exhaust system:

1. Which system is the best ( I like Borla but not sure if Magnaflow is better).

2. Should I have the entire exhaust system done and make it true dual or is a cat-back system enough?

I know with the 4.7 it comes off the manifold to two separate cats w/O2 sensor then into a 3 inch pipe to single exhaust. So not sure if that is enough flow if I should do true dual with two mufflers.

Any feedback is appreciated.

I ran Magnaflow on my TBSS and absolutely loved it... I will probably run the same setup on my Ram..

For CAI, I am going S&B dry system for my 12... I only run dry filters and I love S&B products. However, a Vararam may work for you since you don't offroad.

oooooo another lowered black 07 SLT and in Texas... a buddy! haha

My thoughts are that Magnaflow and Borla are both big exhaust companies so I would expect a quality product from either and I really wouldn't expect their to be a HUGE difference between the performance of the two. Id just go with which ever you can find the best deal on. Most people will have a bias one way or the other but it's like Harley vs Honda... its just opinion.

Also, the stock pipes on these trucks are already 3" so they flow pretty well. If you plan on getting headers and a cat-back thats pretty much a full blown exhaust system anyway so you might as well go that way and split it.

I spoke to Magnaflow customer service. They agreed replacing just the muffler is the best way to go. They said to keep it SI/DO. Rep stated that I may loose too much back pressure, therefore loosing torque. I agree.

Planning to get a K&N airintake, Gibson Headers and then the Magnaflow exhaust. After that's done I think I may be done with the performance mods. Thanks again for all the input!

i am in the process of doing mine i have a cold air intake and gibson headers on now (makes it actually sound like a truck now) and i can see the difference in the air flow, much more exhuast coming out and i will be doing a 2.25 stainless dual all the way out with a maganflow x flow muffler with 3" tips. still dont know what to do about the O2 sensors yet but need to do more research with the cat delete

Im really digging my Gibson catback. Only been a few days but sounds great ang seem to be getting better fuel economy. I am by no means an authority though, just more food for thought for you.
