Have you compared them... first off i wanted a non oil filter... looking at S&B they are a thine piece of cheap material compared to airaid which is thicker than their oil filter and made of the same construction. Yes S&B looks nice... however if it wasn't closed i would never use it.

I have no interest whatsoever in non-oiled filters.

No I haven't compared them.

But I respect your views.

I would only look at 2 'CAIs' for your build. Either the Vararam or the Legmaker carbon fiber. The vararam is a better system all around, but it really kills the aesthetic of the engine bay IMHO. It doesn't do much for increasing velocity into the throttle body, but it does flow some of the coldest air I've found yet

The Legmaker is a true carbon fiber tube so it has less heat soak compared to the plastic or metal tubes, the down side is it's a short ram intake, so no sealed box, but flows a crazy amount of air. I run the LMI Hammer in my 6.1L manifold swap and it's amazing how well that thing increases the air velocity into the throttle body, Chris with LMI really understand how the flow velocity affects our hemis.

I ran an airaid for a long while and it was good, no better than my first K&N. You have to trade off a bit for better flow, or colder air. Typically, you want the coldest air possible because that'll affect the power the most, unless you are running a power adder, then you want flow rate.

agree however... if one was just adding a cold air intake not wanting to kill a motor you would want good filtration as well.

I've been looking at the Volant sealed CAI with the Power Core filter. Does anyone have this or has anyone heard anything about these?
