Default Cabin Leaking easy Fix

So a couple days ago i got into my truck and my headliner was soaked. Turns out my third brake light had a bad seal my truck is at 19,237. Brought it to the dealership and all i had to pay was for the bulb all 11 bucks woohoo but no more leaks

What'd they do to it? Silicone caulking?

Replacing the bulb isn't going to cure the leak. Hopefully they added sealant as well.

This would be a better fix than sealant.

Ya they re did the seal with whatever new stuff the dealership is using and went in with a camera and looked in for any water damage but all was good and only waited an hour woohoo

That's what I was curious about. As far as I know the only thing they use is caulking. Which is BS IMO, that's not a fix that's a bandaid.

so weird companies haven't fixed this yet. my 98 ford did it and i didn't realize it was a common problem until the guy who bought it from me told me all of his trucks do it. If it's been happening for over 10 years why is it still a issue on all these makes and models?
