I have an offroad edition as well, and from what I have read, the 5.5" lifts only net us about 2" since our front coil springs are approximately 3" longer. So the same thing could be accomplished with a leveling kit.

Only thing I worry about and haven't had much luck finding a concrete answer, is the control arms. I am pretty sure we have the same length control arms as the stock trucks, so if we add more lift like a leveling kit, the front axle is pulled back towards the fender more. I haven't really seen any aftermarket control arms available outside of a full lift kit.

I might try and run down to the parts store tomorrow and check and see if the stock and the Offroad call for the same control arms. That might be a place to check. I will let you know what I find, wish my truck was white lol. What would be a good place to look for a tire and wheel combo set? The nearest tire store is a county over and they are not much help.

I just sent Pro Comp an email asking if I needed to do anything other than the leveling kit. I will let you know when I get a response from them.

I'd check out Rimz One at least for ideas. I'm not sure of local places. My 20's were from Discount Tire, but the previous owner bought em.

I wish they had a more negative offset. They are +18 and 5.71 inches of backspacing. It's a 20x9 rim. I'm thinking this will cause it to rub on the control arm with larger tires?

And thanks. I like my truck, other than it's a fuel hog and needs repair.

If you would, I'd appreciate it. I'll be looking to upsize my tires or at least go wider.

Seems like these Offroad trucks are somewhat of a mystery. I see conflicting answers everywhere I look.

I have 35's on mine with a 2" leveling kit, no issues so far. I have seen a 3/4 ton with 37's on it with no lift, not sure about rubbing issues but it is his daily driver, and he doesnt complain of it. Like someone mentioned before, the backspacing is where the issues come from, mine rubbed with the current setup and 285/75/16's bounced it off the control arms on every u turn. the 3/4 ton trucks have a lot of space under them.

yea I hear ya. well check Craigslist for used tires, I know in my area people are selling used quite frequently. unfortunately I don't really have a recommendation for a set of cheaper ones....

check the other sections of the forum too by doing a search for cheap mud tires, ats or whatever suites your needs... I know I remember seeing a thread where someone bought a cheap brand of mts that I've never heard of and they had the basic mud terrain tread pattern.

Just got an email from Pro Comp and they said that I did not need to get anything but the kit. It said that It would not need new control arms. I will have to look and see what my clearance is now on my control arms. I have 285/70/17' and they have never rubbed, but that is with the stock Offroad wheel

Federal has some cheap MT's. They look cool, but I've heard both good and bad

Good to hear, thanks for letting us know.

I'd like to see some pics if you do this and your thoughts.

I for sure will take some pics and post them. The tire choice is going to be a riff one, I pull my 5th wheel camper with this truck so trying to find a tire that I like the looks of and is a good tire to haul with. Just to let you know I measured the distance between the tire and the control arm today at full lock I have 2 3/4" without the leveling kit and with my 285/70/17's. I think 35's will work fine

Talked to a local 4x4 shop today and was told that if I kept the factory Off Road wheels that I could not put 35" tires on without them rubbing. No I'm really confused and in need of some good information
