try plastidip first and make sure you like the look. For 2 colors and shipping it might cost $20. If you like it you can always peel it off and do it with real paint. Or just leave it because it looks pretty good alone. We did my buddies camaro wheels and they came out great, so did the wheels on my old beater dakota. Thinking about doing my rams grille as well
If you want a thick paint then you'd want to look at a commercial high-build paint, but it also won't look the same as a standard automotive paint will. If you care about looks, then a regular automotive paint with a few extra coats of clear followed by a paint protection film like 3M.
