From what I understand the 2wd Hemi 8 speeds have begun being built but mine (4wd Sport Crew A8) will not be started on until March (due to 4WD I think...)
Funny how we are all told something different...means they are making stuff up to keep us entertained and they DON'T KNOW...

As I did mention before in other 8-speed hemi threads that production of 8-speed/Hemi 2wd will start production sometime mid Feb. Followed by 4x4 8-speed/Hemi at the end of Feb to early March.

There are things that will make ones order get built later and that is part restrictions like with color, air ride, wheel to wheel running boards. etc. in general what you are seeing when your status keeps jumping back and forth has to do with restrictions and is adjusted daily depending on part availability. The other thing that does cause status to jump around is allocation. Generally it follows this order:

0 Employee Sold Orders
1 Cutomer Sold Orders
2 Dealer Orders

Though part availability will then play a big part in the ordering.

Example A:

Identical orders between Employee and Cutomer orders with only difference being a wheel to wheel running boards on the Employee Order. Would push a Customer order ahead if wheel to wheel runners not available.

Example B:

Identical orders between Dealer and Cutomer orders with only difference being a wheel to wheel running boards on the Customer Order. Would push a Dealers order ahead if wheel to wheel runners not available.

Usually when that happens it is due to an error the dealer made when placing the order. Usually adding an option not available for the CPOS Package. Sometimes the dealer connect software will let this go by and when chrysler receives it they reject it. hence why they said it would NOT be built in the near future.

I would go back to the dealer and go over your order with a fine tooth comb. Get your dealer to either ask chrysler if this was the case and what caused to error and have the dealer remove that option from the order.

Belive it or not this is more common then one might think. specially with alot of dealerships who are clueless when it comes to RAM's since Ram's may not be their most popular sales and cater to more of the car side. It also tends to happen when dealer connect network is being updated or being worked on at the time the dealer enters the order.

I called Dodge, and they say that they have not set date, but they should be available on the 2nd quarter, more likely May, as per Cost Serv.
