Default What is this?

I feel kinda dumb today. I've had my '05 Ram for over a year now, and just noticed this. The first pic is wired in the same wire harness with the plug for my trailer lights. I HAVE seen this before...but never knew what it was for. Now the second pic, believe it or not, I just noticed today after over a year! It's a toggle switch in the little cubby under my climate control. What in the world is this? It looks like it came with the truck, but maybe could have been after market. Are these both part of the tow package? Can someone shed some light please? Thank you!

First pic all 3rd gens come with, just 4 blade (tow package comes with 7 pin). Second pic, I say turn it on and see what happens!

agree - first pic is a trailer plug

2nd pic I also agree -- at night turn it on and see what lights up -- i bet its for LED's .

just pop the bezel off and see where the wires go .

Hope that it is not an ejection seat switch

So the plug is another trailer plug besides the one coming out by the hitch? Why would I need two trailer light plugs?

I've flipped the switch during the day and night and saw nothing. It has me baffled lol
No ejection seat though...darn it.

The trailer connect by the hitch should be a 7 pin, more commonly found on trailers with more than just lights (trailer brakes, aux power, hydraulic pumps, etc.) The 4 pin found under your truck is more commonly found on older trailers that haven't been updated, boat trailers, and other trailers with just lights on them. 2 completely incompatible plugs.....

If you have a 4 pin plug by the hitch too, then the previous owner must not have known that there was one tucked behind the bumper and added the one by the hitch......

If you add the factory 7 pin package (the Mopar kit) it comes with another 4 blade attached to it.

I am guessing that the previous owner had LED's or lights under the truck for show. Before he sold it he decided to keep the LED' or lights for his next vehicle and decided to just CUT them out. logical to get your 80$ lights but leave a simple 20 cent radio shaq switch.
