Exclamation engine oil

I stopped at a gas station earlier to check my oil and the dip stick sais it was about 1/4 of a quart, I added a small ammount that I had left...maybe a half quart. So, I get home and check it again on a "semi level surface" and it says that it is about 1/4 of a quart to much and on a slight incline it says about 1.5 quarts over!!! I noticed something I never noticed before that while checking it after I filled it at the gas station was that every time I dipped the stick it would have like 1-4 tinnie tiny bubbles............I am FREAKING OUT!!!! Am I freaking out for no reason? should I change the oil now before it is damaged or are the tinnie bubble normal after you shut it off? I see no difference in the oil pressure or engine noise. Is the half quart to much????????? Please help! Thanks
