Default 2007 Grille bubble

Hello Guys. I am hoping some one would be able to help me. My Chrome grille has bubbled on me the other day in the extreme cold that we had in Ontario. When I went to my local dealership they were in awe as they had never seen this before. The truck Has 84000 km on it so it is over the bumper to bumper warranty. I called Dodge Canada and they will not come good for the part of $574. Has any one else experienced this problem and so how did you deal with it. Thanks any help would be appreciated. I have Dodge blood in my body for over 25 years and this experience as really discouraged me.

All is well. Dodge rep came to his senses. It is being fixed under good will. They want it done asap. I guess it looks pretty bad for a dodge to look that way. it is funny that head office wouldn't touch it, but when it was explained that for the past 26 years all I have owned is dodges, and my family all own dodges loyally the tune changed.

That was good of them! I've had some things done by a dealer under "good will warranty" and it's all good.

I have a 2007 and the chrome bubbled then flaked off the grille on mine too. The grille was cracked under the bubble. My solution was, since I am not a big fan of chrome, to replace it with a body colored grille shell.

Glad to hear the dealership helped out, they really didn't have to.

You are right that the dealership did not have to help me out. They are a great bunch. But, if it wasn't for people like us returning for service and parts they might not have a job either. It goes both ways, if you understand what i am saying. Overall i was very pleased with my results and appreciate the help they gave to me.

Yes! I am having the same grill problem with my 2007 Dodge. Has anyone ever found a way to repair the problem or will I need to buy a new grill?

My 07 has done the same. I was told to use clear fingernail polish to stop it from flaking off further and it has, but nothing to fix it though. I'm on my second grille surround and it's frustrating. Only choice is to replace it or buy one you can paint.

Default mine is doing the same thing

The first day it got real cold mine did the same thing and i thought it may have been wrecked previously since i bought it used although the car fax didn't have any issues so i took it to the Dealer i bought it from and they said it happens and pretty much im on my own so i took it to another Dealer and they could sell me another one for over $400 and i asked can you guarantee it wouldn't happen again? they said no, I know it is a 2007 but it still looks great besides the Grille

hHere is what mine looked like after I peeled off the Chrome that had bubbled and flaked. I plan to sand the remaining chrome so it is level with the plastic and plastidip the grill. That way as it gets damaged I can just peel and re-apply.
