Default 360 Rebuild

Hey guys, im planning on pulling my block and having it ported and polished ect ect, im looking for budget friendly parts to go back on it. Im trying to build her as a stoplight to stoplight burner so im not looking for top end power as it stands shes got the stock tranny and 4.11 gears in the rear end. Ive completly removed the a/c system and am also looking to remove any other wiring that i can. (This is not a daily driver) to clean up the engine bay. One other thing does anyone know if it would make a difference to put a carb on it? Any suggestions?

Porting and polishing the block? How about the porting and polishing the heads instead? A set of aftermarket aluminum heads will give you more power than trying to mod the stockers. If you really want to make gut wrenching torque, you should give serious consideration to a stroker motor. Do you want to keep this engine naturally aspirated or do you plan to boost it?

Im planning on keeping it naturally asperated im looking to get around 350hp out of the 360. Most of the aftermarket heads i looked at are out of my budget. My initial plan was to take the block to the machine shop ($350 for bake sonic test and boring) buy a rebuild kit with oversized heads to fit 0.03 over ($450) from summit. Put shortie headers on it and run true duel stacks. ($500) Possibly a 52mm TB with my CAI Already installed. Lastly an aftermarket cam
