Default Seat Issues

Im new to the forum and came hear because im having an issue with my driver seat. The truck is a 2012 1500 Crew Cab 4x4, with power driver seat. The seat when I brake hard enough kinda of dips forward slightly and when I hit the throttle i can feel it shifting backwards (the movement isnt a sliding, more of a rocking motion). I can get it to occur when not in seat also.

Been to the dealer a few times and they said they couldn't feel it the first few times I took it, so I guess I must be imagining things those times. The fourth time I get a answer that now they felt it, the reasoning I get from this is its supposed to have this play its "designed that way". I felt I was being BS'd personally, i felt it in his response and body language. I have never had a car or truck seat move like this and I had no knowledge base to offer any argument. I called ram they were little to no help.

Any input with your experiences is appreciated, this rocking motion gets on my nerves when driving. I don't believe this is normal. Do yours do this? Thanks for any help in advance.

Is there another dealer close by you can try?

70 miles away, so its a drive for something that if it is an issue I shouldn't need to do so. I figure if I can get some knowledge base here then I can argue it with the dealer and or Ram to get the problem fixed if my seat shouldn't be shifting like this.

I haven't seen any complaints like this come into our shop, so it's not normal and not a known issue. I'm really surprised that your call to Ram got you nowhere. Was it to them directly or Chrysler customer service?

I got the customer service from ram owners manual, she tried to say their should be play. I don't think it should be like this, have never felt it in any other vehicle. She said if I think its an issue go back to the dealer or drive the 70 miles. I know it was one of their cookie cutter responses I work for a powersport dealer and find customers get the same kinda response when calling the OEM.

Maybe I should go to the local dealer and say the seats shifting more and its not normal. And if it is normal lets jump in a new truck and see if it happens? Cause they said it was "designed that way" lol after the fourth time in its "designed that way". Maybe they dont have the knowledge to figure it out and don't want to put in the effort to get the whole seat assem. warrantied by Ram?

If the dealer insists on saying it's normal, ask them to show you the same condition on a new vehicle in their inventory.
