Default Radiator hoses collapsing/99 Ram 5.9L

What could cause both the upper and lower hoses to collapse at the same time?
Hoses are 2 yrs. old.

I assume you replaced the hoses 2 years ago. When you replaced the lower hose, did it have a spring inside it? As the engine heat cycles it weakens the rubber hose. The spring is inside to stop the lower hose from collapsing cutting off the supply of coolant to the inlet of the water pump.

Default Collapsed radiator hoses

Not sure if a spring is in the lower hose,I"ll check as I didn't replace the hoses personally.
Today, I replaced the rad cap and I noticed that the temp gauge ran up to 250 then the thermostat opened and the hoses collapsed immediatelly.

Thanks for the reply. Any other thoughts?

The upper hose still baffles me, I cant figure out why it would collapse. The thermostat seems to be faulty if it allows the temp to reach 250 degrees. Maybe that has something to do with the problem.

I don't know about on my Ram, but both GM pickups that i had before, had springs in both hoses. I could feel the springs in both, when they begin to get old, you could hear & feel the springs crumpling inside when i used my fingers & thumb to squeaze the hose where they curved
