can smell antifreeze near engine area when warm
This might have been covered before but I thought I'd post my situation. I have a 98 1500 360 cid w/63k on it. I bought it new back in 97 when they were first coming out. I have done extensive maintenance on it, more than the average bear, and it runs fine. I notice the smell of antifreeze when the engine is warm. There are no leaks, no smoke from pipe, or power loss issues. I have had more raidiator flushes done on it than I can remember as I've done it every 2 3 years since I bought it. The heater core seems to be intact and there's no moisture or smell of antifreeze inside the cab when I run the heater. Can the freeze plugs be showing signs of age and when it gets warm some gets by? The engine is pretty much spotless as I've kept it clean since I bought it new and I don't see anything leaking. Even the overflow stays at the same level. I had new hoses put on 2 years ago just to do it sinice the truck is 15 years old.
any ideas would be appreciated
