Default Need cam help!

So I need some cam help. Im stuck between 2 cams. A custom grind cam from comp cams 214/224 506 lift with 112 LSA for 337. The other is a hughes 214/218 510-544 lift with 110LSA for 400 bucks. My motor is basically stock. Just have ported TB K&N CAI headers and E3 plugs. I want 110 LSA but I hear that its hard to tune is that true?? What are you guys running for cams???

The 112 degree LSA will be more computer-friendly. Also, the higher lift exhaust (.540") on the Hughes cam can present potential clearance issues on stock heads. Both cams are pretty hot (for the street) and you will need an intake manifold upgrade to take full advantage of them.

The guy at hughes said I wouldnt have a problem with that cam. He said all I would need is new springs and retainers. I am kinda leaning towards th hughes because I can send thm my pcm and have them tune it. I guess they have had good luck tuningwith the 110 LSA

My statement was in the context of a stock PCM. If you're going for custom tuning, and you have assurance from Hughes that you are safe on clearance, go for it.

you think it would be worth it to just buy the sct tuner and dont bother with sending out the pcm to get it tuned?

Thats gonna fall to you and how much you want to tweak and mod your truck. Also, depends on how much a single tune by Hughes will cost. If I were dealing with that sort of thing I'd lean towards buying the tuner because it's right there any time you want it and you can do a few things with it.
