18" if you want a more mature, refined, musclecar tone. 14" if you want a loud, rowdy, "I own the street" sound. Best way I know to put it. I went with the 18"

I would think the Super 40 FM would be louder than the Magnaflow 14"...?
I have had Flowmaster on everything I have owned for many years but ONE vehicle...my Charger SRT that I had for like a year I put a FULL Magnaflow system on...way too quiet for my taste...I liked the idle and WOT but everything in between was about like stock...turned me off to Magnaflow for the next several vehicles...but my new truck on order, I am thinking to try either the 14" or the 18" - basically I want it to be slightly less noise than Flowmaster Super 40 I have currently...with a smoother more refined rumble that Magnaflow is known for...

So to those that have owned BOTH how does the 14" Magna compare to FM Super 40 sound volume wise??...(I understand the Magnaflow is less restrictive I have seen both mufflers cut in half)

Lets say stock volume is a 1...straight pipe/no mufflers is a 10...I would call the Super 40 setup a 7 to 8 personally...I'm looking for a 6 on this scale...if that makes sense...Would the 14" get me there? I really don't want to get the 18" in fear of it being too quiet like a 4. I have heard the 22" Magnaflow and I would call that a 2. More sound than stock...but barely noticeable.

I personally own the 18" kit. It is just right! When the muffler is ran a bit, it will be loud at a cold idle. However, when the truck warms up it has wonderful tone and is still a bit aggressive. I feel the 14" is overkill if you ever plan on putting longtubes and o/r y-pipe on the truck.

I have the 18" and love it. It is not overwhelming whatsoever. There is a small clip in the link below my sig.

If you want loud go 14" but I personally wanted something that wouldn't drone on the highway and more modest, so I went 18". I will say that I absolutely love it and that it is exactly what I wanted. It is loud during start, WOT, or just passing someone. However, when I am cruising it is not overwhelming.

Have you heard the 18 vs the 14 in person? Curious how much louder it is...I am seeking something not as loud as Flowmaster 40 setup I currently have but I don't want it to be super quiet and several reviews have stated the 18 is barely louder than stock unless WOT...so I have been thinking to do 14" on my 2013.

I have not. I just did not want drone on the highway. So that is why I went 18". If you are more concerned about it being loud enough then go 14".

Where are you getting the muffler from? I got mine from FastNUgly at Discount Auto Performance. I'd send him a PM. They beat my exhaust shops price.

As long as the 14" Magnaflow is not as loud as a Flowmaster Super 40 (and I'm sure it isn't) then I will be happy with that...looking for just a little less than FM40 sound...I honestly LIKE a tiny bit of drone to be honest...but a small enough amount that the radio can cover it easily (if that makes sense). I don't mind hearing my engine working...I feel 18" might be a little less than I like so plan is to go 14"...

I get things at 10% over cost (wholesale)...a friend owns a shop locally so as long as his vendor carries what I want I get excellent pricing.
