It really stinks for any owner, regardless of brand.

See the funnythingisni have these in my fleet - mostly oil field use, and no issues. Now back in October I was with a buddy of mine who has an ecoboost and we went from calgary to Spokane, picked up a 1979 Ford F100 on a flat deck trailer and towed it back with no issues. The truck was uncomfortable as all hell to ride in. But for an 800km trip back with a 4000 lb truck on a 2800 lb trailer wasn't a bad pull.

You are going to get a lemon in the bunch. I know this first hand with my 09' Dodge Challenger, it was a lemon from day 1. But I have a 2010 challenger and it is a nigh and day difference, and because of it I have the 11 Ram and I'm a happy camper.

Let us not bash Ford here, tho everyone is entitled to their opinion. I just gave kudos over on the 13 forum for a response a fella gave about Ram. He is a new guy and apparent owner of a Ford ecoboost. He gave a very respectable recommendation and said nothing negative about us proud Ram folks.

Just thought I'd share that. Honestly, any major engine issue like this is truly terrible for any owner, regardless of brand.

This is a great forum guys...have not been here long, but I check in just about every night. There is a tremendous amount of knowledge here!

Really sucks for the owner and I hope everything will get squared away. I'm definitely a fan of Ford prior to my '12 Ram all I ever had were Fords but I am not a fan of the new Ecoboost trucks, sure they may be great and they may kick my Ram's ass in the mileage dept but if I ever went Ford again it would be a 5.0 or 6.2.

I have never been a ford fan and never will every ford I know of is a pile of junk.. Ugly interior and shitty engines.. They can't build a motor or a decent truck.. This is my own opinion people will tell me I'm an idiot but fords are junk.. Just seen a 04 style at Walmart te other day with a pool of oil under it. Looked underneath an a rod was hanging out the block truck only had bout 140k on it.. The guy started it up put it in gear and he said it just died... I could go on all day bout fords but ill leave it at that

To bad about that guys Ford. They aren't all bad. Our 99 F-150 is a good truck but we both prefer the RAM! When it does quit we'll get another Ram.

Well put HorseMan! This sounds like a manufacturing defect that could happen to any brand. I hope the poor guy ends up with some favorable resolution from FORD. I have owned pretty much every brand of truck and they all have their Lemons. I've had some excellent Fords and then some that were not so great. I am on my 2nd Hemi Truck now with the first having been given to my Father (2003 Hemi Ram 4x4) and it's still running great and does not use or leak a drop of oil to this day. The Hemi is a proven engine and we are fortunate.
