Exclamation SRT brakes on 2011 Ram - 1500

Hello,
I read an article awhile back in " truckin" magazine. they put the new 6.4L in a 1500.... it was awesome. They also added some SRT - 4 piston brakes... so my question is simple..... what SRT - 4 piston brake calipers will fit on my stock 1500 Ram? I want to add engine mods but i also require big braking power...
Anyone else want SRT - 10 braking on their Hemi? Seems like a smart thing to do when your truck can do 150 mph and run 12 second Quarters...

I have F/R SRT brakes on mine. What you need to do is compare spindles from an SRT (I imagine 06 would be the closest) and compare them to your to see if there are major differences mounting and alignment wise. The spacing on the mounting ears for the front brakes as much wider, plus the shape of the spindles itself is quite different (different alignment specs for the SRT vs a reg 1500). You will need completely different backing plates on your rear axle, as the ones of the Dana 60 and 9.25 are completely different (I have the Dana). I saw the Urban Ram with them on there, I was kinda curious if those were Ram SRT brakes or from an SRT Grand Cherokee.

Awesome,

thanks Big Red. I will go to the local wrecker and compare the 2 spindles side by side. I tried comparing the calipers off the srt- Cherokee.. but they were totally different.

Cheers,

I don't think there is any such thing (how would a 3 piston even work?). 20's will clear the 4 piston calipers, but that's the minimum size.

22's definitely give you more airflow (plus SRT trucks have ducting to route air to the calipers) plus better visual appeal over those calipers, especially those sexy ass R/T wheels.

I got the 14" SSBC front kit with 3 piston calipers and matching rear rotors.
I also have their 4 piston front calipers but they didn't clear my old wheels. I'll be swapping them those on pretty soon.
I didn't do a write up anywhere...got lazy I guess.

Ahh, ok, it's a slider. Never seen that many pistons on one side. The ones I have are fixed. I would be wary of putting aluminum calipers on a 4800-5300lb truck, that's ALOT of heat to dissipate.
