Default Auto Dim Nav Unit

I have the Nav unit in my truck and have the settings for the display on auto. It is supposed to adjust automatically to the day/night settings but its doesn't seem to work. Anyone else have problems with their unit? The only thing I can think of that would be effecting it is my windshield is tinted across the top.

It doesn't dim automatically like you think it would. You have to roll the dash light dimmer switch back 1 click. The screen will only dim if you have the display setting on auto. I was thinking the same as you when I first got my RAM that it would dim on it's own once it got dark outside. As I recall you set the brightness on day/night settings then put it in auto. It will change to the day/night settings depending on the position of the dash light dimmer switch. Hope this helps.
