I'm no expert so I only go by my knowledge. I always examine my oil for colour, viscosity, texture, and for metal flakes, etc so you could be fine and you could have trouble, but judging by modern cars and how they work, I would judge sight unseen that you should be ok, most people follow the schedule of 8,000 + Kms set out by the car maker and seem to avoid trouble.
I think it's a crime to wait more then 5-6,000 Kms for an oil change in any situation. I would never wait till 8,000 kms + unless doing a cross country road trip and lots of monitoring. But this is my opinion and not scientific.
