Default Hemi tick turned to a bad lifter,,,they think

So a little over a week ago, I took my truck into the dealer to have them listen to my engine. It seemed like over night i developed a lifter or valve problem. They agreed, and said I should not drive it. Waited on parts,,then waited on an available engine tech. Called me today said they got it back togeather and the noise is still there. I asked if i could listen to it, sure enough, same noise. Its coming from the driver side cylinder bank. They replaced all the lifters on that side. SOOOO,,truck still there and they will take it apart again. Any ideas??. I was thinking flat cam lobe, but i would think they would check that. Bent valve?? Bent rocker arm?? I dont know. I dont drive it hard at all, change my oil at the proper intervals. It has 44K on it.

Sure it's not a leaking exhaust bolt? Hemi is known for that as well, my 11 had it. Would only tick when it was cold then go away.

On my 09 I had a few shops say it was the motor and not a exhaust leak. paid $48 for a manifold and just like that no more loud ticking

Had a Grand Caravan once, swore had a bad lifter, just ticked away. Oddly enough it was when it was hot. Anyhow was in there one day looking around saw an exhaust manifold bolt back out a bit, tightened them all down. Could not believe how many were loose and how loose they were. Guess what tick went away.

Well they got it back togeather,,put all new lifters in the drivers side bank...loud tick still there. Got it torn back down now to check the cam. Oddly enough, as i read what you guys are saying,,they did tell me when they tore it down the first time, the exhaust manifold had a broken bolt on it. They did replace it, so i would suspect that would have taken care of it right? But i heard it after they got it back togeather, and loud tick still there. However,,i wonder if it could be a cracked exhaust manifold??

Yep,,,bad lifter. They replaced the whole bank of lifters on the drivers side,,did not fix it. They took it apart a 2nd time and what do you know,,,they checked the cam. Replaced the cam, and all the lifters again, its quieter now than it was when I bought it new. Just want to say something about the hemi tick,,,which is absent from my truck now. Hemi tick = too much play, which in my opinion, can ruin your cam. Its a matter of time.
