Default rpm drop when i let go of the gas

hi i just got a 4x4 1500 auto 5.9 and i don't know if its normal for the rpms to drop immediately after i let go of the gas. it drops down to idle rpms. can someone help me out?

What do you expect it to do when you let off the gas? If the RPM's stayed up that's where I'd be worried. Your torque converter is just letting go and you're coasting. That's what it should do.

for got to put that it cuts off when cold

Howdy! As far as it being an auto, and dropping to idle, that part is normal... what rpm does it idle at when warmed up?
