That is exactly what the dealer we bought our truck from told us, too. There were two other dealers who would not lock in the rebates at the time of ordering. They said they would only apply the rebates that were available when the truck arrives at the dealership. There was no way we were willing to risk not knowing exactly what the top dollar was going to be on our truck.

Very true, but that price is still almost $2,500 higher than I paid. My dealer came to that price within 15 minutes, it was the next couple hours to get them down another almost $3k. One big thing to be aware of is that almost all dealer advertised prices on websites feature prices that only %1 of people can attain. That price most likely includes a $1,000 rebate for owning a Volkswagen, another $1000 if you bought a new CASE tractor in the last year, etc etc. Those prices also reflect if you are trading in a vehicle, if you are not then it’s another $1,500. I called and researched at all the dealers in ID for 9 months before pulling the trigger. Do not trust any posted prices until you jump through all of the hoops. Even over the phone they will tell you that is price until you go in and they start working the paperwork and you find out the price is truly $2,500-4,000 higher than their “sales price”. I did all my research and know I got a great deal for somebody with no trade in and no connections, if you can get a better deal than more power to you.

Went to price out a Big Horn Crew Cab today. Their inventory was a bit low, but I found one truck that pretty much had absolutely everything I would personally want (not need) with a couple more features to boot. Price came in at $40 700 + Tax. That includes freight and the couple little fees. Once that Canadian tax was added though, it was just a little too rich for me

Anyway, for anyone wanting to compare, these were the options:
-4x4
-Bucket seats
-UConnect 8.4A
-LSD
-3.92
-Spray in bed line
-Air suspension
-back up camera
-remote start and security group
-comfort group
-hitch receiver
-brake controller

Was at a dealer today & test drove a 13 Quad Cab Hemi 8 spd 4wd Big Horn that had a
msrp of 39690. They went down to 34270 then add ttl. Nicest sales guy you could ask for, but know they can do better. SO the truck is on their lot & I am at home.

Do want to clarify something though as I am hearing a different twist on discounts. You guys saying you got X off of Y price. Are you including the package discount?

For example. The truck I looked at today msrp is 39690.
Big Horn package discount is 3200 on the sticker plus destination. Dealers theory is 39690 + 3200 = 42890. So 42890 - 8620 = 34270. There is your 8 grand off.

Have seen a Ford dealer sell at 25% off of sticker. They were adding the msrp + package discounts, then taking off the 25%.

My thought has always been the package discounts are packaged from the mfg. What ever discount of 7-8-10 grand off begins at the 39690 number, not the inflated number. Am I wrong?

mine stickered at 36485, i got it tax tag dealer fees out the door at 28000. so take about 1306 (taxes and fees )off the 28000, I got it for 26,694 before taxes and fees. So I got it for 9791 under MSRP.

Out the door for $20,380 for a CC Big Horn Hemi with 20" rims, 8.4 Uconnect etc...I did have to buy the Nerf side steps..
