I had bushwacker on my 05, and I have EGR on my 12, the bushwacker in my opinion is the way to go, the rubber channel that mounts on the contact edge of the flare is far superior, it's easier to work with, it fits much better. I also don't think you need pocket flares, they are too wide, they make one that is about an inch wide, just my 2 cents

Default fender flares

hey everyone, i am looking for some OEM fender flares for my 2013 1500 crew cab 5.7 bed and would like the ones that come painted mineral gray. i saw the ones on raynes truck and those are exactly what i am looking for.

rayne, do you happen to have the part# for those? i am getting 2 different part #'s from the dealership and dont want to order em without knowing for sure since they are special order supposedly.

Quick google search says they are part #82212208. They are just the OEM 2500/3500 flares

I have the EGR rugged style because they go past the headlight all the way to the front bumper with a 2" overhang. But that's 4th gen. Don't think they make anything like that for 3rd gens. Bushwacker would be the best bet. I personally like the flush look and not the bolt holes.

I guess I differ from the norm - IMO flares should be unpainted black.

My Outdoorsman came off the assembly line with painted flares so I'll leave them as is, but if I were building a rig and adding aftermarket flares, I'd go unpainted black 100%.

My previous truck (base Tacoma) had unpainted black fenders - if those fenders get scraped against a tree or whatever it's a non-issue.

I agree with what most others are saying. If you get them, paint them. It would ruin a good looking truck like yours to have black flares on it.
