try instead of flushing the whole system just disconect the inlet and outlet hoses of the heater core run water thru them untill clear then get this product called Nu Brite pour about a 1/2 cup per line wait about 5 min and the chemicle will start to bubble out all the gunk out little effort needed leave in max 15 min then flush with water. Repeat if nessary (warring this stuff is highly acidic so wear gloves , and eye protection and keep animals away)

What if you are getting a lack of heat and the smell of coolant when you first switch the heat on

I have a 2003 1500 with 4.7 auto. The temp going in is 190 coming out around 180 something but coming out of the heat vents only around 100. Do you think it could be the
blend door stuck or what my local garage said they need to remove the dash to check to see if that is the problem an 8 hour job at 65.00 an hour. Thanks any help appreciated Roy
Also forgot to say the air blowing out is very low no force to it at all.
