Default need help, sounds like my trucks got a blower.

ok so i cant seem to figure out whats going on with my ram
to describe the problem, it sounds like theres a turbo or a supercharger under my hood its very load as i can here it over my exhuast. my brother in law is a mechanic and had the same problem on his ram and it turned out to be the power steering pump. ill have him take a look at it but im at the trouble shooting point right now.

anyone have any other ideas as to what it might be? i see alot of people asking the same quesion but with no follow up so i made my own thread.

it could also be the alternator. if you or someone you know has a stethascope it would be very helpful in checking otherwise you can use a long ratchet extension putup to your ear and against each part just be careful not to get it caught in the belt

I have had it on two vehicles and it is the idler pully as others have mentioned. Easy fix.
