Unhappy Start and Stop Technology. Does anyone have this?

I'm on the wait to order a late 2013 or most likely a 2014. The problem is here in Canada is ordering what exactly what I want.

I priced a Laramie Longhorn MSRP $59k. With Employee family discount down to $44k. Could be a little less now with more consumer cash being offered. At the time it was $7500, now its $10500. So be around $42k.

My dealer said they have not heard of start and stop technology. I thought this was big new when it was launched at the 2012 auto show last April.

They said they have an 8 speed, 5.7 hemi ready for me to test drive. But I'm still waiting for the crew cab with 6.4 bed.

So does anyone actually have the start and stop in their truck? Is it limited to certain models? The way this is going, I might as well wait for the 3.0 Diesel for 2014.

I think the start and stop is only on the HFE Rams, it is it's own trim level so to speak

If dealer hasn't heard of start and stop I would go somewhere else because it's clearly an option on some 2013 Rams as far as I know.

plumcrazy73 is correct the stop/ start is only available on the HFE Model.

As for the Crew with 6'4 it is available to order. I ordered my Laramie Crew 6'4 on saturday. If your waiting for one on a dealer lot it won't be on the lot's till May.

Checked with the dealership when I ordered. This is for Canada I don't know about the US but would assume the same. The stop start is only available on the HFE model. This was a model designed mostly as a fleet vehicle I think. Help business cut down on fuel costs when the vehicles are left running a lot.

I wouldn't want it.... First of all u gonna need a new starter every year or other year.... Then what happens if u have an emergency and you have to punch it.?.... F it.... Not worth it in my opinion... Wanna save gas or get good mileage ... We need these big car companies to produce other means of fuel and get better mileage...

Thanks for clearing that up. I made my mind up. I'm going to wait for a 2014 now if I can. We'll see how my trade for my current ride is next year. I really hope it has these new feature as I always wanted like blind spot detection, collision detection, adaptive cruise control, and the steering motion headlights.
