Yup. Lots of people don't realize (in most states) that you don't "officially" own a vehicle until all paperwork is finalized and the wheels on the vehicle touch property not owned by the dealer.
This is why lots of times if a vehicle is not 100% up to a customers expectations they will schedule you an appointment some time in the future to resolve the issues, instead of doing it before you take delivery.
ie. "Just come back on Friday, and we'll take care of that Scratch..."
ie. "Come back tomorrow, and we'll get that option added for you..."
ie. "We don't have that part in stock, but I can have it here first thing in the AM."
NEVER EVER Talk delivery of a vehicle that is not 100% to your liking...
Oh, and ALWAYS get a reciept for a deposit making sure "Refundable" is written or printed on it.
